What's new in DomuS3D® 2012

Navigation window

New navigation window that provides the following enhancements:

  • better performance when loading the scene: in addition to higher speed, you can watch the progressive dynamic loading thus eliminating waiting times
  • greater fluidity of movement even in  presence of a large number of objects
  • less memory consumption with a consequent increase in management of big projects
  • improved color and graphics rendering: improved management of materials in the scene through the use of higher resolution textures. Even better performance effects such as transparency and reflection: reflection effects handle also blur, giving greater realism
  • Introduced new forms of animations in the scenes such as the ability to manage furnitures with dynamic drawers and doors, sliding doors, tiles exhibitors with sliding and rotating surfaces that can also be tiled, thus giving you the same functionalities that they have inside the showroom

Modify tiling window

New Modify tiling window which now shares the same functional logic of the other windows.
In detail:
  • It is now available the full set of CAD commands already in the Plan window: this allows the use of polylines to create new tiling areas, or even the insertion of photographic images in limited areas of objects surfaces
  • new features ported from the Navigation window, such as the use of the drag&drop and  controls to change the applied laying
  • Improved user interface: both at single commands level and room walls navigation management. You can now access adjacent surfaces and the floor through the yellow rectangular areas that appear when you move the cursor near the outer edge of the surface you are working on. From any wall you can go directly to the floor

The Components interface has a new images section

It is now possible to apply photographic images on elements surfaces in your project using drag&drop; simply drag the images on the destination surface. This makes it very simple, for example, to set up and configure panels or displayers, in addition to the possibility of applying tiles with drag&drop. The applied images maintain the correct aspect ratio, and you can change the mapping anytime using new commands that allow you to translate, rotate and scale the image, with the help of an always visible preview.

SketchUp compatibility: COLLADA file format import

The models in COLLADA file format are 3D objects that can be imported as furnitures. You can enjoy all the items in Google 3D Warehouse library by downloading these files and importing them into DomuS3D.
They can be inserted directly into the current project or into the database, so they are always available in the Components window. This format allows you to import items while maintaining their original size (though drawn in different units) and native materials assigned to them.

TouchFly, now available on iPad

Taking advantage of the convenient touch system that allows a simple, fast and immediate consultation, the new TouchFly module is now available; a versatile and multi-platform tool to view DomuS3D® catalogs, available also on the iPad. Used on mobile devices, it allows the retailer to move with the customer in the showroom selecting products of interest, and then complete the project with the chosen items. TouchFly can also display projects and attached documents, interior decorations and panoramas 360, acting as a DomuS3D® Reader.

IdentiTile, tell me what you look like and I'll tell you who you are

The new IdentiTile module allows you to perform graphic searches, to submit a photograph, even of an entire room, in order to go back to the original product or at least to get a list of similar materials, both in terms of colors and type of decoration.

DomuS3D® Cloud

DomuS3D® evolves towards a cloud computing oriented platform making available the consultation of projects to multiple devices, on a global platform without frontiers that consists of mobile devices and widely used technologies in the wake of the Internet carrier. The design is enriched by a component of communication and sharing that can further promote the convergence of business-oriented purposes, in a perspective of resources optimization and operational efficiency.
